The organ at St. Barnabas was made by Cornel Zimmer in 2020. It is a two manual digital organ with a console made from cherry.
St. Barnabas is a welcoming and energetic congregation with a strong faith foundation. We have a resilient and strong lay leadership that has sustained our parish through challenging times. We enjoy worship, music, the participation of children, and we share a deep desire to grow spiritually. We hope to expand our programming to attract and meet the needs of new members and families by finding innovative ways to engage younger and/or newer members by exploring new approaches to bring vitality and inspiration to our worship and music while keeping a balance of tradition and innovation.
St. Barnabas seeks an accomplished musician, proficient organist, pianist and enthusiastic leader to serve as its next Director of Music Ministry, Organist and Parish Administrator.
This is a full-time blended position with benefits paid for by the church. Benefits include health care and a 5% contribution to a 403K with an additional 4% contribution if the employee also contributes 4%. In addition benefits include life insurance and vacation.
In collaboration with the Rector of the parish, the Music Director will create an inspirational music program which enhances liturgy and invites participation of the congregation and the wider community. The Director will be familiar with a variety
of musical styles, honoring traditional religious repertoire and have the willingness to explore diverse and newer expressions. The Parish Administrator plays a vital role in the life of the parish. This person is the hub
of communications, formal and informal, for nearly all activities. The Parish Administrator
may choose to utilize volunteers for some of these tasks. Regardless, any volunteer roles
will require support and direction from the Parish Administrator or at times, the Rector.
This function of the blended job of Music Director and Administrator will require good
skills in delegation, multi-tasking, time management and working within a budget.
